How to store
Eat seafood as soon as
possible for best results!
Live lobsters can live up to 48 hours if they are kept cold and gills moist. Keep lobsters contained in tanks or in an open container in the refrigerator. The lobsters must be kept moist with seaweed or salt water dampened towels or newspaper. NOTE: Immersing lobsters in tap water or placing them directly on ice in an airtight container will suffocate and kill them.
Store cooked lobsters in an airtight, rigid container. Lobsters are best if used within three days from cooking time.
Remove lobster meat from shell. Store lobster meat in an airtight container for up to four days.
FROZEN LOBSTER PRODUCTS
Follow directions on package for storage and thawing of frozen lobster products.
When you get home, unwrap fish from paper and place in dry, airtight container. Best if served within 48 hours of purchase.
Keep in very cool refrigerator. Do not place in airtight container, as mussels, clams, etc. will suffocate. Place in mixing bowl and cover with a damp towel until ready to cook. Best if used within 36 hours.
